FRP pipe is a lightweight, high-strength, corrosion-resistant non-metallic pipe made of resin (such as unsaturated polyester resin, epoxy resin, etc.) and glass fiber as the main materials through a special process. Its main features and applications are as follows:

Performance features

Corrosion resistance: FRP pipes have excellent corrosion resistance and can resist corrosion from various media such as acids, alkalis, salts and organic solvents. They are suitable for corrosive environments such as chemical industry and electroplating.

Lightweight and high strength: The specific gravity of FRP pipes is only 1/3 of carbon steel, but its specific strength is 2-4 times that of carbon steel, and it has high mechanical strength and pressure resistance.

Temperature resistance: FRP pipes can be used for a long time in the temperature range of -40°C to 70°C, and can still maintain normal operation even at high temperatures above 200°C.

Antifreeze performance: FRP pipes have good antifreeze performance and will not freeze and crack in low temperature environments below minus 20℃.

Low friction resistance: The inner wall is smooth, the fluid resistance is small, and the conveying efficiency is high, reducing pumping energy consumption and operating costs.

Anti-fouling and anti-rust: Because the surface is smooth and difficult to breed bacteria, fiberglass pipes do not need to be rust-proof or anti-fouling.

Category Type

Classification by production process:

Pure fiberglass pipes: made of synthetic resin as the matrix, glass fiber and its products as reinforcing materials, and made through special processes.

FRP sand-filled pipe: Quartz sand is added to the pure FRP pipe and made through a winding process, which has higher rigidity and lower cost.

FRP composite pipe: It adopts laminated type, with the inner layer made of other materials (such as plastic, cement and steel, etc.) and the outer layer is continuous fiber FRP layer.

Classification by purpose:

Desulfurization pipeline: used in flue gas desulfurization systems, with strong corrosion resistance.
